PUBLIC NOTICE BUSH FIRES ACT 1954 PART III PREVENTION OF BUSH FIRES SECTION 17 - PROHIBITIED BURNING TIMES SECTION 18 – RESTRICTED BURNING TIMES Pursuant to Section 17 Bush Fires Act 1954, the Shire of Kojonup provides public notice that the Prohibited Burning Time for the Shire of Kojonup District will conclude on Wednesday, 28 February 2024. Pursuant to Section 18 Bush Fires Act 1954, the Shire of Kojonup provides public notice that the Restricted Burning Time for the Shire of Kojonup District will commence on Thursday, 29 February 2024 and conclude on Tuesday, 30 April 2024. No Permits will be issued for town site burning before 30 April 2024 or until further notice Permits are a requirement for burning in the Restricted Burning Period and can be obtained from a Bush Fire Control Officer. This notice amends the current advertised Prohibited and Restricted Burning Period dates in the Shire of Kojonup 2023/2024 Fire Break Order. PUBLIC NOTICE ANNUAL ELECTORS MEETING TUESDAY, 16 APRIL 2024 Notice is hereby given that an Annual Electors Meeting for the Shire of Kojonup will be held on Tuesday, 16 April 2024 commencing at 6.00pm at the Kojonup Sporting Complex, Benn Parade, Kojonup, to consider the Annual Report for the 2022/2023 year. This report was adopted by Council on 5 March 2024. PUBLIC NOTICE Disposal of Property by lease – s. 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995 The Shire of Kojonup (Shire) gives notice in accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 that it proposes to lease a portion of Lot 9999 Thornbury Close, Kojonup to Syd Matthews & Co Pty Ltd for $12,000 per annum or pro rata thereof, for use as a transport depot and grain cleaning/storage facility, commencing on 15 March 2024 and until such time as the subdivision of Lot 9999 Thornbury Close, Kojonup is finalised. Upon finalisation of the Lot 9999 Thornbury Close, Kojonup subdivision, the Shire will obtain a sworn valuation for the sale of the afore-mentioned property and provide Syd Matthews & Co Pty Ltd with first option to buy, provided that nil public submissions are received in response to this Public Notice. If public submission/s are received in response to this Public Notice, this matter will be returned to Council for further deliberation. A sworn valuation of $12,000 per annum for the lease of this property was obtained on 15 January 2024.
