A Smart Start

A Smart Start is an exciting early childhood initiative that is designed to make a difference for families with children aged 0 - 4 years. Smart Start

A Smart Start involves government services, your local schools and community agencies, parents, caregivers, service clubs and local businesses all working together to encourage and support the positive development of children in communities in the Great Southern. For more information please contact your local ‘A Smart Start’ Coordinator situated at the Kojonup Library.

Story Time

Reading starts at 10:30am and we read & sing for about 30 minutes. Please join our Library Officer and our guest Story Tellers as we bring books and rhymes into the lives of your children so that they too, can have the gift of literacy and the love of books. Check the Shire ENews or the Kojonup News for upcoming ‘Story Time’ dates. Come and join in for a little bit of fun & fantasy!

LOTE4Kids

LOTE4Kids is an online database of digital books in World Languages, that allows kids to enjoy the magic of books in LOTE (Languages Other than English). Each book comes with EnglishLOTE translations to help kids learn languages. 

LOTE4Kids has over 3,000+ picture books in 65+ languages, with new books and languages released each month - helping libraries to engage immigrant, refugee and multilingual families in their communities.

Play in the Park

Please join our staff as they bring extra activities, storytelling, play-doh, colouring/painting and shared fruit to our community for a fun filled morning held at the Kojonup Park. Parents, Grandparents, Carers, Aunts & Uncles with children 0 - 5 years come and chat to other parents. Check the Shire ENews or the Kojonup News for upcoming ‘Play in the Park’ dates.

Play Cafe 

Come and join in for a little bit of fun & fantasy!

Play Cafe is held at the Kindy of Kojonup District High School, Blackwood Road. This is a free community event for 0 - 5 year olds.  As it is based on play and craft activities, please wear appropriate clothing (as paint goes everywhere).
