Southern Link VROC

Voluntary Regional Organisations of Councils (VROC) are established to encourage and promote cooperation amongst Councils in a region.

The Shire of Kojonup is a member of the Southern Link VROC which comprises the Shires of Plantagenet (Mt Barker), Cranbrook, Broomehill-Tambellup and Kojonup. The Southern Link VROC was formed in 2008 and has a regional population of approximately 8,400 people and covers an area of 13,929 sq. km.

The primary areas of activity for the Southern Link VROC are mainly regional resource sharing (sharing the services of officers, e.g.: Town Planner, etc. between more than one Shire), joint purchasing, asset management and regional archive repository.

The Southern Link VROC is chaired on a rotational basis between the four Shires with a term generally being for one financial year. The terms completed are as follows:

  • 2008-2009 - Cranbrook
  • 2009-2010 - Broomehill-Tambellup
  • 2010-2011 - Plantagenet
  • 2011-2012 - Kojonup
  • 2012-2013 - Cranbrook
  • 2013-2014 - Broomehill-Tambellup
  • 2014-2015 - Plantagenet
  • 2015-2016 - Cranbrook
  • 2016-2017 - Kojonup
  • 2017-2018 - Broomehill-Tambellup
